About

“Racing’s important to men who do it well. When you’re racing, it’s life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting…”  (Steve McQueen).

This site started with a blog in 2003 while waiting for my new MINI Cooper S. Blogging was still somewhat new and I thought it would be interesting to document the MINI ownership experience. I started auto crossing and participating in track events in 2005, and became an instructor in 2010. In 2016 I ran the Instructor Academy for the National Capital Chapter of BMW CCA, eventually becoming the Chief Instructor in 2021. In 2023 I retired from my day job and became a part time driving instructor at the Summit Point Training Facility as well as the Porsche Experience Center, Atlanta.

Over time this site morphed into a repository of DIY projects, thoughts about track driving and eventually a store. Even the store has changed over the years as my focus shifted from MINI, to Porsche, to BMW. In 2021, the focus is shifting again as I got more into data analysis and watch-making. Yes, watch-making. You never know what direction your future might take you. In 2023 I started doing preservation detailing, having long been a disciple of Larry Kosilla at AMMONYC.com. Through it all though, I still help drivers source parts to build track cars and the occasional race car.

Information and images that are not original have been gathered from public sources.  If you believe information has been incorrectly sourced or not adequately cited, please use the contact link and let me know.

At the very core though, this site is designed to promote and encourage track participation at the grassroots level.  Come along.  Get out on the track.  Go fast(er).
